Drop Band Named a Finalist in Two Payment Award Categories
Drop Band Named a Finalist in Two Categories at The Card & Payments Awards US 2026
We’re excited to share that Drop Band has been named a finalist in two categories at the inaugural The Card & Payments Awards US 2026:
- Best Prepaid Product or Program
- Best Product Design
This double recognition celebrates both what Drop Band enables and the intentional simplicity behind its design.
A simpler way to tap and pay
Drop Band is a wearable, reloadable payment wristband designed for tap-to-pay purchases. Managed through the Drop app, it brings contactless payments to an easy-to-wear form that can fit naturally into everyday life.
That experience earned Drop Band a place on the shortlist for Best Prepaid Product or Program. The official finalist entry, submitted under EML Payments, highlights the combination of the wearable Drop Band experience with the payment-processing infrastructure behind it.
Designed by subtraction
Drop Band is also a finalist for Best Product Design. Instead of adding another screen or another device to charge, Drop Band was designed to keep the experience focused. According to the official finalist entry, the band has no screen, battery, GPS, or personal data stored on the device. It uses a secure token that responds when the band is tapped, while permissions are managed in the Drop app.
The result is a product built around a straightforward idea: payments and other everyday interactions should feel simple, wearable, and ready when you are.
What happens next
The winners will be announced at The Card & Payments Awards US gala on November 17, 2026, at Gotham Hall in New York City. Until then, we’re honored to be recognized alongside other innovators helping shape the future of payments.
Thank you to our customers, partners, and everyone who has supported Drop Band. Being shortlisted in two categories is an exciting milestone—and we’re just getting started.
Editor’s note: As of September 21, 2026, Drop Band is a finalist in both categories. The awards ceremony has not yet taken place, so no winner has been announced.
