Congrats on your new band and welcome to the future! Drop band replaces your phone and cards for payments and other daily tasks.
Getting connected
Find your smartphone model below.
Unlock your phone. Then, touch and hold the highlighted area to the Drop logo on our device.
You may need to hold the two devices together momentarily for the signal to be picked up by your phone.
Drop uses the same technology you use to pay with your phone (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.,). If your phone can make payments by tapping, you can use Drop.
Most modern phones will work straight away, but there are exceptions. For older iPhones (released before 2016) you can use the NFC scanner in the control center to scan.

Sign-up/Sign-in
Sign-in using the app
- Download the Drop app from the appropriate app store (Apple or Google).
- Enter your email on the sign-up/sign-in screen.
- Once you enter your email, we'll send you a magic link to your email.
Go to your email and click the sign in link.
Tip: If you don't see it, check your spam folder).
Sign-in using a browser (no app installed)
- Visit https://app.dropbands.com or simply scan the band. (See previous connection instructions above).
Tip: Turn off VPN or private browser if active. - Once you enter your email, we'll send you a magic link to your email.
Go to your email and click the sign in link.
Tip: If you don't see it, check your spam folder).
Tip: If you're having trouble logging in, it could be that your email opens links in a different browser than the one you signed up from. If this is the case, you may try copying the sign in link in your email and going back to the browser window where dropbands.com is open. Paste it and hit enter.
Drop Pay Setup
- Once you've signed-in successfully, tap the green "Setup Your Drop Band" button.
- You'll be asked to take a photo of your Driver License.
Note: This is required by law to create your Drop Pay financial account. We do not store the photo or license information. - Verify that the data is correct and submit it for approval. This should take just a few seconds to approve.
- Once approved, you will receive a virtual Drop Pay card and can proceed to the next step.
Note: If not approved, tap on the chat or support button on the home screen and we'll help you with verification.
Adding a Drop Band
Adding a Drop Band is easy!
- Hold the chip/logo portion of the band to your phone (see correct scanner positions in image on page above).
- You'll be prompted to add the band to your account as soon as it connects.
- Add the band and you should see it added to the Drop Pay section at the top of your home screen.
Tip: You should be prompted to set your 4-digit PIN code. This code is sometimes required to make purchases at retail locations, etc., Set it just like you would a debit card.
Adding Connections
Start dropping messages, money and more to family and friends on Drop!
- Tap on the connections tile on the home screen.
- Tap on the "Invite a Connection" button
- Drop will generate a one-time use link for you to share with a contact. You can copy the link, or tap the share button and share it via any messaging app.
- One accepted, you'll receive a notification in the app and voila! -- your first connection!
Sending a Drop
Drops are messages and can include media, money, a location PIN and more!
- Tap on the message arrow icon in the center of the bottom menu.
- Select a connection or group of connections to send your Drop to.
- Compose your drop by typing some text, or tap on the money or location icons to share those items.
- Once you've composed the perfect Drop, send away! We'll notify you when it's opened, like or when the connection responds.
